Am I the only die-hard Star Fox fan that ACTUALLY liked this game??!!

Yes, I know it's short. Yes, I know the voice acting isn't the best it could be, but is it really that bad? I loved the graphics, the story, the replay value, and especially the amazing music. Yes, I own Star Fox 64, and I like it just fine and even though it has 16 levels, the 7 u actually play through make it WAY shorter than Assault. Was Star Fox Assault really that bad?

P.S.:Just because I liked Assault doesn't mean I'm not a die-hard Star Fox fan. If you saw everything I ever did that was Star Fox related, u'd probably think I wuz creepy.

No you're not. I loved this game. And even though Star Fox 64 was great I hated the fact that you couldn't save your games. And if it does, and I didn't know about I'm going to use the programmers as target practice.

And yes, I'm a Die-hard fan. My room is littered with Star Fox Fan-fics, I have several pictures on my Harddrive, and I'm an officer in the Wolf O'Donnell union on Gamespot.

What exactly is this "Wolf O'Donnell Union" about? I checked it out and I found your name on the members list. Please explain a little.

This game is awesome. Seriously, anyone who claims to not like it is lying to themselves.

You guys think you're die hard Fox fans well I built a scale model of the arwing out of legos over my summer break last year, I have tons of pics of Fox and the crew on my walls and on my bedsheets I have all the games, tons of Fan-Fics on my computer and also I might get my last name changed to McCloud (maybe not)

reply

The game is good but to me, it lacks replay value.

reply

You're not alone, this is a fun game. It's not the best in the series but it is a lot of fun. I acctually enjoy the on foot mission but I didn't really like the tank missions. The flights missions are once again the best. Good multiplayer here too. I can't wait until Star Fox Command for the DS.

I loved this game more than the original (and 64). And so far love it more than Adventures. (Which I just started.) And will probably like it more than command. The third-person view, while different, was fun as hell. And the final boss wasn't *beep* Andross for once. It was ten times better and twenty times harder. (Yes, a boss can actually be harder)

Thing is, SF64 had replay value. After you go through the game in Assault there's little reason to play though it again since there's no branching paths or anything. With 64 you had more of a reason to play thorugh the game again since you couldn't play through all the levels in a single run.

But that said, I'll give Assault two things:

1. It was MUCH better than adventures.

2. It has great music.

Assault is a great game; playing for those golden badges has had me returning to it time after time. The problem with the game though, is its lack in villians. You see, although its good Andross has took some time off, the aperoid queen has know personality; hencve making her/it less fun to fight. Starwolf are then the only villians and they turn good, so your lreft with game missing villanous rivalery and evil persona. What do you think?

reply

Although i have only played it once (it was a rental) I thought it was fun. Hard, excellent graphics, and more. But i do have to agree with some others that the replay value wasnt all to great. (but about a year later, i want to play it again because i dont own it O_o) I thought it wasnt one of the best games in the starfox series due to the fact i thought it was a little short.

I cant wait to play their next game (when they decide on doing that)

reply

I'm a die-hard Star-Fox fan, yeah, and I loved the game.

How the hell did this game get a 1 out of 10? That is seriously the most dumb rating I have ever seen on ANYTHING. It was more like a 7 out of 10 to be fair.

personally it was one of the few Game Cube titles I liked (there weren't many like on the N64 before it) and it's certainly not the weak link to the Star Fox series....that tedious title goes to Star Fox Command on the DS

reply

Bull.

The weak like in Star Fox series was without a doubt Star Fox Adventures.

reply

Star Fox Adventures I didn't much like either but at least it's terrible controls didn't give me a headache

reply

I would have to agree too. The game was too long for how boring it was. If it was like the Godfather video game; a game fun enough for how long it is (which is VERY long) than it would have been great. But really it was a big disappointment and I think it made it on the list of video games that was pretty weak on G4's X-Play VG reviews.
