Does anyone else hate the Scott and Ramona characters?

I liked the background characters-roommates, band members, some of the exes, who all seemed more interesting than either Scott or Ramona. I've never read the comics this was adapted from but Scott seemed like a giant wimp and Ramona seemed like an emotionally unavailable, hollow mannequin. Oh, but it's perfectly fine that they treat people like crap because it's all in the pursuit of true love. Blech. Those people should be neutered and spayed so they can't reproduce.
