Is this film ever gonna come out? I guess a cinema release is becoming less and less likely after all this time...

I too got no reply from the offical site. It's such a shame that there is no publicity forthcoming on this. I was really looking forward to it.

I was told by someone who heard from someone in the production department that it is going directly to DVD. Has anyone heard this information, too?

Why has the status of this been changed by IMDB to IN PRODUCTION? Surely filming finished a long time ago.

I wouldn't be surprised if the film goes straight to DVD. I think the producers have messed it pretty much up with this one. Shame.

I actually e-mailed Johan Kruger, the line producer of this film in South Africa. He responded very quickly, and told me that the film is undergoing a "digital intermediate," which is a reworking of the color (there's a very good article in Wikipedia, if you are interested). He further stated that it ought to be out after the Cannes Film Festival in May. We shall see.

2 and a half years after they started filming? They've been saying so many times that they'd release it shortly that I don't really buy into it anymore. Didn't it already go to to Cannes last summer and obviously didn't get picked up?

The "digital remastering" I think is a *beep* excuse for some other problems the film obviously has. I heard from soneone who met Billy that it's got major financial troubles and that's why nobody touches it (sounds like Boyd fans need to set up a charity to save it lol). Shame, I really want to see Billy in this so I hope they just bring it out on dvd as soon as possible.

I heard that the Swiss post production company totally *beep* up and are now being sued by the producers who will finish the film with another company.
