If not for the accents

If they just spoke normal instead of fake NJ accents it would have been more enjoyable. People think it is easy to do NJ or NY but it's not. Being a New Yorker who has spent years being teased and working super hard to drop my accent - successfully - so I don't have to endure their ignorance and listen to their condescending twangs - this was painful to watch.

(Note: The people who made fun of my accent when I moved to FL were Mid-Westerners who say Thee-ay-tor instead of Theater and Thank-YA instead of Thank YOU - they clearly should not be throwing stones.

hey i hear ya, im from the southside of chicago, and we always get told we sound like we are from new york (cause most of our familys came from italy to new york then migrated to the southside of chicago, so that why the accent has followed)

but when i moved i guess my accent was super thick, and didnt realize it, and people used to make fun of me....

i really liked this movie, and i thought if they dropped the accents and the stupid stereotype of "italians being dumb and hot headed" it would have been a great movie
