I saw the unrated version for sale at walmart

I saw the dvd at walmart for like 8 bucks or some price that was pretty low. Is it worth buying? Or should I just save my money on something else?

Any opinions on how this was?

reply

I haven't seen the theatric cut, but I bought my uncut copy from a sales bin myself and was positively surprised by it. Couple of decapitations are shown, some fake looking blood spatters, dogs eating intestrals of some slain indiands etc.

Hmm wonder if thats the version i saw on tv last night was on late like 9 pm and had decapitationns and dogs eating dead corpses (and the vikings eating what looked like the brains of their victims after the slaughtered them -- after the scene where several indians fell into ghost's vikings trap)

Unrated, at Walmart? Now you know it's just a DVD marketing gimmick.

Supposedly you get all the stuff that retailers and cinema chains don't want you to see. In reality, you get to pay twice for the same product.

its a medieval 300 without the interesting dialogue and spin

America was not discovered by Americans - shame on them.

reply

300 had interesting dialogue???

reply

300 - dialogue ??? WELL SPOKEN !! more: Pathfinder HAS a real story behind it all, 300 NOT. only ONE example for comparing Films with soul (Pathf.) and bubblegum-coloured BIGGGGG movies like 300.

Saw the unrated version and it still has many problems and is very boring. I get what they tried to do but its very weak in execution. I don't know who's fault that is. The director, writer or producer.

I got it at Wal-mart for $7.50 too. It's about average. Cinematography was the best part: very dark and gloomy, the way I like it. Action was acceptable; I'll watch it again just for the sword fights. All in all, I would have probably been pi$$ed if I had paid $19.95 for it. But at $7.50, it's not such a bad deal.

reply

Trust me, even if you're paid to watch it you should still avoid it.

Signatures are dumb...

I just picked up the R-rated version at Big Lots for $3 on Thursday and thought I'd come here and see what my fellow IMDb'ers had to say about it. 5.1 rating, mixed bag of reviews and comments. I figure if it's not <4.0 like "Apocolypse 2012" I didn't waste my money too bad, so I guess I'll go watch it now.
