I was really surprised.

I expected some kind of knockoff of Tremors, having only seen the poster. Instead it starts as a very effective western with a good cast. I get interested in the story and was actually disappointed when we are reminded that there's monsters about. On the whole it works as an old-style horror film where the point isn't the violence and it doesn't rely on constant action to keep things interesting. It's much better than I might have hoped.
