A Musical that should have been an opera.

This could have been improved by cutting out 90% of or totally dropping the stilted dialogue. A lot of the stuff demonstrated through exposition could have been shown and the musical numbers could have been easier to enjoy if not broken up with weak exposition. Of course, other areas needed improvement. But that at least would have made it more enjoyable.
