McGregor talking about legal action against the NSAC

Can't say I blame him. He should sue them for everything he can. What they did to Nick Diaz for getting a false positive was unbelievable, but this is even more outrageous, by a factor of ten, especially considering NOBODY GOT HURT BY THE WATER BOTTLES/CANS. Not only did they slap him with a $150,000 fine, they also included 25 hours of community service, 5 hours of "media training", and he has to make an anti-bullying Public Service Announcement video. Love him, hate him, either way, this is outrageous. And BTW- Rogan gave out the number/email for the NSAC on his podcast after Diaz ruling, so anyone who has that should post it in this thread because the NSAC is out of control, incompetent, and damaging to sports in general. Dana was right long ago when he said the Nevada governor needs to step in and clean house. Truer words have never been spoken.

In its handling of Conor McGregor, NSAC proves to be 'arbitrary and capricious' once more

Its Absurd....but what can you do...

McGregor himself might have been able to prevent this...

Had Conor Mentioned a few times leading up to this that He's not going to be happy with a huge fine and thats If he does get a huge fine, He may refuse to fight in Vegas for a while..I highly doubt the commission would have gone this far...

The Money that Conor's fights brings for Vegas,Hotel's and Business is second to none(now that Mayweather retired)...

If the commission honestly thought Conor might refuse even one future fight in Vegas, theres no way they would have fined him this much...

Also, he might thank his luck stars that the person who he accidentally hit didn't sue him. Both Conor and Diaz should be excited about that.

I don't agree with the amount of the fine, but the original offer from the Vegas DA was not terrible (on par with Jones and DC) and McGregor's lawyer apparently mentioned a law suit even before the decision was made. Terrible idea. Though I'm kinda excited to see his anti-bullying PSAs! !!

Nate's water bottle and the other 209 water bottles were pretty harmlessly lobbed. And although Conor escalated with cans and really chucked them, I think he intentionally went over their heads so it hit the wall diagonally behind/beside them. Also, from what I understand, that person who was "hit" was fine because they were "hit" by a ricocheted can depleted of its liquid (after hitting the wall).

You think a $25,000 fine, 25 hours of community service, 5 hours of "media training", and an anti-bullying PSA for throwing cans at a wall are on par with Jones and DC's fine for an all-out brawl? Crazy talk. Not only is their punishment a farce, it's a blatant cash-grab. And in this case, the fine shouldn't be based on his purse either. As for the PSA, I hope some video-savvy McGregor fans make a satirical PSA and mock the NSAC, especially since Conor was calling Nate a bully in the press conferences for their first fight. There's plenty of audio/video, all it needs is something with the skills and time.

Jones was fined $50,000 and had to do 40 hours community service.

The first "fine and punishment" was $25,000, 25 hours community service and 5 hours media training (what ever that is). I don't feel that is terrible. It's on point...half of Jones etc. The upgraded one is crap.

I don't get why it was pushed up after the first one was fair.

reply

Well, he can still boycott fighting in Vegas, especially since Madison Square Garden is considerably closer for him. And although Conor has p!ssed off most of the UFC, when Nate gets similarly punished, there might really be an uproar with other fighters boycotting Vegas. Plus, if/when the fight with Mayweather goes down (presumably after he retires after UFC 205), that fight can be held in NY.

I hope no one is dumb enough to want a McGregor/Mayweather fight. Talk about cash grabs. They aren't in the same sport, they aren't on the same level(Mayweather is a promoter and he takes a 60/40 cut of the fight), only the dumbest of the dumb(that dosent say much about the public)would want to see that fight and it would play to the lowest common denominator.
Personally its not MMA and it wont take place in an MMA arena so I really don't have an interest for it. I could get real nasty and just talk a lot of smack about how Floyd would never take this fight unless its all on his terms but these are my legitimate reasons why Mayweather/McGregor would be a money pit for the public and a disappointment.

Luckily, plenty of McGregor fans, Mayweather fans, and fight fans are interested in seeing what would happen. Win/win for McGregor though, and lose/lose for Mayweather. The paydays, though, that's a win for both.

lol I literally haven't SEEN ONE PERSON say anything different..

The Conor/Mayweather talk have been going on for a year now...I truly haven't seen anyone say Conor has a chance....everyone universally agrees if the fight happens its nothing but A Giant cash Grab, But people also agree they could gladly buy it...

once again I think your letting your Hatred for Conor get the best of you...I think the only reason you even mentioned this topic is because your wanting to make fun of Conor fans...

"only the dumbest of the dumb(that dosent say much about the public)would want to see that fight and it would play to the lowest common denominator."

^ your clearly trying to hint at Conor fans here, But the hilarious thing is, NOT Even Conor fans actually think Conor has a chance...

You went out of your way to try and insult Conor fans and The truth is, The exact thing your trying to make fun of them for doesn't even Imply, Conor's fans dont think he's going to win and haven't been claiming he's going to win, No ONE has......

I've seen countless shows on ESPN and FS1 talk about the fight in the last year, Countless Analyst's, NOT ONE has ever even remotely came close to saying Conor would win, The closest was recently with Skip Bayless saying he thought "Conor could go the distance against Floyd"(which counts for nothing since Skip is an Idiot and is a Massive Floyd Hater)

Everyone agrees, Conor has no chance in a boxing match with Floyd, In fact, most even say They dont want to see Floyd to take the fight because It would hurt his legacy, But again, Those same people say They would absolutely buy it if it took place...

So just calm down, You dont need to hint that Conor fans are Dumb...everyone Including Conor's fans understand the fight is NOTHING but a cash grab, but A cash grab that most people would watch if it happened

Why would i care if he fought Mayweather? Hes already fighting Alvarrz. Im not a boxing fan though i enjoy the sport from time to time. Im obviously not a McGregor fan. Why would amlnyone be surprised about my opinion of this fantasy fight? McGregor fans want to see it? Is that news? He wants to get paid, his fans wana pay him just to see him do anything to the extent of lining Mayweathers pockets again in a useless exhibition fight that would never happen by the way. Like when there was talk about Rousey fighting Mayweather. Only a fool would take that serious and a bigger fool would buy it. Why not Conor vs Phelps in a swimming race?

Yeah, I was a little disappointed with TJV when he said part of the reason he hated Conor was because of his fans. I mean, seriously, who cares what other people think? He's either talented or he's not. Fans mean nothing and I can't ever imagining forming my opinion based on popularity or what other people think.

Conor is boycotting Vegas. According to Dana, he said: "I don't ever want to fight in Nevada again. Ever." Once again, I can't say I blame him. Respect.

Maybe they'll fight at MSG?

You are aware that Mayweather fights in Vegas? He hasent fought outside of Nevada since 2005. Many speculate that he will never fight outside of Nevada again because of the advantages he has by fighting in that State.

Unless he's contractually bound to fight only in Vegas, I don't see why he wouldn't fight Conor in NY, especially since he's fought in Jersey before.

Conor McGregor responds to $150,000 fine from NSAC: "Good luck trying to get it."

In addition to backing up his trash-talk, he isn't afraid to fight against "the Man" (aka the system). Definitely my favorite fighter ever.
