What are your Sweet 16s like?

My parents took 7 of my friends, me, my siblings, and a good family friend into Philly (like 20 min. from my house) where we ate Hibachi food and then we went and played games next door at Dave and Buster's.

It was nothing over-the-top, I wore this dress-shirt that I bought [myself] with blue leggings; no trashy outfit that I bought in Paris or anything.

The best part? Being with my closest friends for my birthday. I actually like being a decent person.

What are your sweet 16's like? I'm not saying if you have a big party you're a brat (I had a bat-mitzvah in 7th grade which was a big deal...), but if you're like those girls then you've got another thing coming.

I had a piece of pie and went with my friends to the movie theatre. No presents. Nothing special. It was just nice spending time with friends.

That sounds like fun!

i went to japan the year i was 16 (following summer). and i went to costa rica in grade 11. my parents made it clear both years that the trips were my main gifts for my birthday and the holidays! there wouldn't have been a lavish party plus the trips. that and ummm i was grounded for 2 years in a row on my birthday...lol... bad grades and not doing my chores in a reasonable amount of time.

now if i had had an actual party i probably would've gone to tgi fridays or some place like that with the handful of kids i got along with at school enough to want to spend time with outside of school. so many 10 kids. probably would've worn something cute from a store like rave or dots or even sears. this was 13 years ago. and my trips i still remember. the party i would've long forgotten about most likely.

fitch, that sounds so wonderful.
I went to Glady's chicken and waffles with my mom, my sister and my two young nieces and nephews. I had a wonderful time since they are pretty much the only close family I have. My friends at school made it a pretty special day for me as well. I didn't want anything big.

I smoked weed in the basement and had a piece of vegan cake

Could you help me push aside all that I have left behind

All I did was go out to Applebee's with my parents and did nothing the entire day.

My birthdays is pretty much like every other day. (The way I like it)

I went to a local restaurant with two of my friends (I have a twin sister, she took two of her friends) and then just hung around the Bay taking weird photographs. I didn't get lavish presents - I got an amazing notebook which I love - and I just wore my favourite orange cardigan, grey t-shirt, jeans and new shoes. You don't need to have a massive birthday party with 7,000 people you don't know and a thousand presents that cost as much as a house each... and I certainly didn't get a car... but it was an amazing day, I couldn't have wished for anything else!

I honestly can't remember what I did (it was 3 years ago) but I'm sure it involved dinner with my parents and a movie with friends or something along those lines.
