shareYou are so totally correct! The actors could sing: that is about the only positive thing that can be said about this film. But they certainly cannot act. What brought me down terminally, was Carmen's "table dance" which was about as alluring as a whale rolling over on the beach.
shareI thought it was the best version of Carmen I have ever seen (and I have seen about ten, including one fantastic version at "Folkoperan" in Stockholm, Sweden, which was totally amazing)!

Wow. Anything bigger than a size two is automatically ugly? I thought Carmen was beautiful even though her heaviness was different than those lacquered bookends we've been programmed to see as beauty.

Hollywood's, waif (12 year old boy look) beauty standard is not beauty. Is skin and bones really beauty? In Africa having something to your name is beauty! Today, Marilyn Monroe would be considered fat!
