Agreed. Peeps here are busy arguing about its meaning and whether or not it's tiresome overlooking the visual joy in every scene. The scenes remind me of oil paintings with their muted and sometimes sombre blues/browns and greys with occasional flashes of other colours such as the girl's purple boots.

I missed the irony in my post!

I might add this film is an audial pleasure as well as a visual joy and I don't find it to be depressing, bleak or confirming the worst of humankind.

Like its predecessor, I enjoyed the visuals of an otherwise empty film.
