Hello,

I just watched this and I'm trying to make sense of this.
Here are some thoughts :

Suppose Volodya's story is in fact completely true.
He claimed that one point he saw four 16-year old half-naked girls who rubbed their breasts against his body. Now rubbing your breasts seems to be a recurring theme in this film( a close up of a breast was on the cover of the dvd I rented). And let's just say that we saw enough of Marina's and the other girls' breasts to claim that these breasts certainly allow such a thing.
So what I'm saying is...maybe Marina was the product of such a cloning experiment, and she met Volodya in the past?

He also said that there were villages where lots of "failures" lived together? Maybe that was Marina's village? Maybe all the (weird) old ladies where clones who were "less good"?

Did you also notice that when Marina got off the train, there were four people in the background, walking next to each other? Clones as well?

What do you think? Any other ideas?

I think you're completely wrong about his story. He said himself that he was merely a piano tuner, and we have no reason to believe otherwise. The village with the ladies was just some dank *beep* in the middle of nowhere. The four people when Marina got off the train weren't clones, they were just a *beep* recurring theme that the directed used for whatever retarded reason. Oh my god, there's four of a lot of things, so deep.

In short, don't read too much into this movie.
