A new theory of mine MAJOR SPOILERS

It's an anti-suicide film. It begins with three disappointed depressed people lying about their lives to feel important around some strangers at a bar. And isn't imitation supposed to be a form of suicide? I've certainly heard that phrase before and I think it true. Then Zoya dies, but how can we know she died from being drunk and choking on the bread? She did after all live there in the village with no one but Marat and the crazy old alkies. What if she killed herself? Because later on in the film when Marat kills himself Marina takes his face mold and smashes the photograph of her and her sisters, with Zoya in mind of course. She then burns all the dolls and photograph on Zoya's grave as though she is punishing it all. Going back to the imitation/suicide thing: right after Oleg starts selling ground meat and round piglets and essentially "sells out" he dies in a car wreck. As for Vladimir, he has that discussion with the old man in the music room about how human life is a game in which one can transform into anything at anytime and the only way out is suicide. He then is arrested for a crime he did not commit and sent to a prison and then drafted into the army, he did not commit suicide but he is passively playing the game and being transformed. So should he commit suicide? According to this film's logic, no. Marina is the only one who acted correctly and left the village, took action and hopefully will turn her life around.

I come up with something new every time I see this movie - I've seen it countless times now- but this theory of mine seems to make the most sense to me.
