very high hopes after the initial bar scene...

i really enjoyed the scene at the bar and felt there was a lot of potential in this film- the dialogue was great and the inventions of the 3 individuals were realistic and vivid, but after this scene, i felt it lacked any direction or purpose. it focused far too much on Marina's drunk village and Zoya's death and essentially abandoned the other characters and their development. After the first 30 minutes, in my opinion, the film went no where. I love Russian cinema and have seen dozens and this was one i simply did not enjoy
