One of the Worst Films That I Have Ever Seen

This film is awful, just terrible. Truly one of the worst that I have ever seen. Terrible writing, a go nowhere plot overrun with pointless "quirky" incidents that amount to nothing. The only thing that was enjoyable about this film was that it was set in Bangkok and I love Bangkok. Other than that, it was terrible. Films like this always get on to the film festival circuit because people see them and think that they are deep and artistic simply because they don't understand what the *beep* is going on. This film means nothing, there is no deep meaning to it, it's all crap. It was obviously trying way too hard to be like the brilliant French film Amelie and it failed in every way.

I was just about to post the same thing. Absolutely totally agreed. It sucks on almost every level. The only positive thing is that it is beautifully shot, but even that becomes too much because it gets too distracting and tries to compensate for the lack of everything else.
The story is just plain stupid. Everything you said. No meaning, no connection, just random "bizzare" stuff. The surreal elements could have been a really great device, but with no real story it has no substance. I'm frustrated with it :D

It's been a while since I saw this now, but as I remember it, alot of the plot and the character actions made no sense, and seemed to only be quirky to be quirky.

I agree it was a really terrible film, at least that's what I remember it as. I gave it a 3/10 back then, as it started out alright and had some good visuals. However, to see the good rating it has here baffles me :)

Amelie tried too hard to be like Double Life of Veronique and failed miserably. That movie sucked hard. Citizen Dog is a better film than that overrated P.O.S.
