READ THIS IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN SEEING THIS

alright. i'm 17 and i love this movie.. if you look at the imdb rating, about half the people gave it a 0 and the other half gave it a 10. so aparantly, you will either love or hate this movie.

but, i think most people don't grasp the movie. they think that it's stupid boys with a camera. that's not the case. this is a SCRIPTED mockumentary - not and documentary! this is not a real story, or real people. yes, the two main characters have the same name in the movie as they do in real like - THAT MEANS NOTHING! if thats a reason to base a film on fact or fiction, then i guess Raven gets visions in real life too?

some of the comments explain that younger kids like this movie.. when in fact i dont think thats the case. (me and my friend love this movie, and quote it frequently, while my 12 year old brother hated it) i thought the jokes were almost too stupid for kids lol, if that makes sense. the jokes were very realistic and subtle, like in real life. kid's usually prefere over the top, clever, corny, zac-and-cody-esque jokes, along with the box laughter and over-acted results. but this movie is much more relaxed.

yes this is a long message haha, but i just wanted to explain to people why this actually is a good movie! give it a chance if you havent seen it, even though most people are bashing it.

Thanks for posting this
I didn't really ever like the Naked brothers Bands music, but thats only because i was going off of what my friends liked and stuff. But i picked the movie up from the library about a week ago and I have seen it 3 times so far. Alex is really cute and funny! And the storyline is simple but its nice. I think if more kids gave it a chance and not just listen to their friends, they will actually like the movie. So if you like the show u will probably love this movie!

Hi, just to clarify. Yes, the film is a mockumentary. The story is fake but based on real life. Nat and Alex are real life brothers and wrote and performed all of the songs. Their mother, actress/writer Polly Draper (from a show your parents remember called "thirtysomething", a hit series on ABC in the '80s-'90s) wrote, directed, and co-produced the film to expose Nat & Alex's real life musical talents with a script of parody and exaggeration. The series Draper created, wrote, directed, and executive produced (or more specifically was show runner and head writer of.)

The boys' dad is in it too (though he is a jazz pianist/recording artist in real life named Michael Wolff). Interior scenes for this independent film was shot in their REAL apartment (at the time of filming, which was low budget) and on location around NYC. Nickelodeon executive Albie Hecht bought the film (after it received the audience award at the 2005 Hamptons Film Festival) and it became the pilot to the TV series on Nickelodeon, which Albie Hecht was the executive producer of.
