Is the movie available?

I saw clips from this movie during Emmy week this year. Is it available anywhere to view or purchase? Was it filmed on Daufuskie Island? I had no idea that a remake of Conrack was being made. I actually have a home on Daufuskie Island (Yamacraw is only a name used in the book-never officially). Several of the "children" in the book were used as actors in the movie Conrack and are obviously now adults and work on Daufuskie. There were only dirt roads when I first came to the island. The school where Pat Conroy taught is still there, and there is still only a two room schoolhouse(although a new one) for grades K-6. The children boat off island for middle and high school everyday. Half of the roads are now paved, there is a firestation/EMT, a restaurant-Marshside Mama's, a library open three days a week. There were two churches, now only one. The Hallelujah Chorus that sang in Forrest Gump originated from that church, but have grown big for their breeches and have moved to Charleston. THere is a haunted lighthouse in the Haig Point plantation. THere are now two other "plantations" Melrose and Bloody Point-which together are now called Daufuskie Island Club and Resort. Wonderful island-very laid back and isolated, Hilton Head is a boatride and a world away!!

yeah, my coworker bought it (at Walmart, I think) on VHS. (It's a 2006 movie and it's on VHS? They still make those?) I'm pretty sure it would be on DVD, too.

I don't know about the location shooting, but the school board scenes were shot at UNC Wilmington. I played a parent when Frank Langella appeared before the board.
