i liked it but I have one question about the ending.

i enjoyed this movie.

OK so somethings were a bit obvious and predictable. Some of the acting was frankly amateur but there were somethings that were funny and original and overall
I enjoyed it.

I just don't get the story of the crate and the shoe. What was McAllister doing? Was it supposed to some sort of test? Because I cant imagine many successful law practices select candidates on their ability to drive across country before offering them a job in their new west coast office.

The shoe was something that was taken away from Rick and I think Rutger Hauer was trying to tell Rick that it is possible to get back something you thought was taken from you and gone forever.

I think he was also trying to say to Rick that the cross country move/adventure was just as beneficial to him as it was for Milla Kunis.

Or McAllister was just a weirdo who liked to torture his employees.

i actually enjoyed it..wouldnt say liked it neccesarily.also.but anyway

did he just not take the bar test?

why didn't they fly?

kind of stupid unless it WAS a weird test for him..

The whole point about the crate was that Rick was supposed to be moving McAllister's household goods. But at the end McAllister had him dig through the peanuts in the crate for something (Rick's shoe). I think the shoe was the only thing in the crate, aside from the packing peanuts and the whole trip was a way for McAllister to get Rick together with his niece. (I saw the movie a couple of months ago but this only just occurred to me.)

BTW, I liked it.
