I watched this film knowing nothing about Hal Hartley and nothing about "Henry Fool" -- just a fan of Parker Posey, Jeff Goldblum, and Leo Fitzpatrick (from The Wire).
So it couldn't be that bad, right?
Why didn't somebody warn me?!!
Can somebody at least explain to me what the "I'm single -- sort of" bit was about?
Did you have to have seen "Henry Fool" or one of the other Hartley films to get it? Was it an inside joke? Was it an allusion to some other film or work that I have no knowledge of?
Yeah, dude. You definitely need to have seen "Henry Fool" beforehand to get that joke or to get many other things.
