I thought they were very fortunate to be able to do that. Good for them. How many people can say they went to the top of Mount Kenya!

Why were the locals carrying their packs?

When in Rome... (but in this case, I know what you mean).

I didn't watch the movie yet, but weren't those people payed ? If they were payed they were working.
