I'm just guessing here, but I'd guess fictional. Although with probably greater history accuracy than most movies, so there's a fair chance that extremely similar events did take place in reality.

Real life is rarely as neatly rounded as this script. Might two homosexuals have sheltered a Jewish girl, risking their own exposure? Might the younger brother of one of the homosexuals be in love with the girl? Might he have had his brother arrested, intending to enhance his own standing in the family by getting him released the following day? Might the younger brother and the girl marry and have a child? Might the younger brother then be exposed as having robbed Jewish homes and helped fence the goods and also as having betrayed his brother to the Nazis? The answer to each individual question might be "well, maybe." Taken together, the answer is "emphatically no."
