this movie was bloody fantastic! i had a tear by the end of it! its such a tragic romance but the story line is tops. i dont want to say too much incase some of you havent yet seen it, but i strongly recommend watching it!

I like the actor playing Jean very much.
I know i saw it on the world movies channel and I couldn't tear myself from the screen.
It really shows what world cinemas has the offer - well directed films with a great story/script; a far cry from some of the crap thats coming out now.
I think thats its also good that the film touched on a part of the Third Reich that is very rarely mentioned amoungst the Jewish pogrom - that of homosexuals as well, as thousands of them died alonside the Jews and Gypsies.

I agree except for the acting, it was uneven. As someone said, this is a made for TV movie (France Television produces some great movies, you should check those by Jean-Daniel Verhaeghe), which explains why some of the actors were a bit sub-par, but if you are not a French speaker, it may not have been obvious.
Michel Jonasz (the dad) is actually a singer and composer, very talented at that, but a below average actor.
I think the brother (the straight one), Leroux, the mother (played by one of my favorite French actresses) and the police inspector were very well played. All the others were really so-so.

This particular subject matter; the horror of gay persecution during the second world war is not taught in schools and rarely ever mentioned in TV or cinema.
Bravo, to all involved in the making of this movie and showing these events from a gay couples perspective.

This movie is excellent. If it hadn’t starred Jérémie Renier, one of the finest young actors working today, I doubt I would have watched it. I wasn’t familiar with this director. I hadn’t seen any of his work. Jérémie was my sole reason for seeking this one out and I’m very happy I did. It certainly deserves more attention than it’s gotten.
