Pensions of Colonial Soldiers

I saw in the end of the film that the DeGaulle Government had frozen the pensions of the French Colonial soldiers and they said in 2002 that they were paid in full. Were they paid in full or the Chirac government did not give them those pensions?

reply

I think one Government decided to pay them in full and then before it could happen their was a change of administration who overturned the rulings so the soldiers didnt get paid their pensions,

GARLIC BREAD?

Plus, since almost everyone's already dead, they are really just paying peanuts at this point.

Upon seeing this movie, Chirac reordered the pensions to be distributed to the ex-colonial soldiers. It was a good move, considering the tensions that are going on in France at the moment. Next, activists are pushing for the French government to give back-pay to the ex-colonial soldiers, for all the lost years that they were not compensated.

Did it ever happen?

The movie makes it real clear that these dark skinned ... Muslim ... colonists where really looked down on and treated like crap! Shame of France for withholding their money!
