Hotel Room at the End

Would someone please explain to me how Jessica, who was so down on her luck she never slept in the same place twice (and even snuck into a dressing room to sleep) had enough money to get a room at the Plaza Athenee for when her grandma spent the night? I don't get it.

Probably saved her money.

I'm going to have to re-watch the movie to be sure. However, by that point in the film, she had a rich boyfriend and a bunch of rich friends, all of whom were charmed out of their socks by her. Moreover, she was a waitress at a posh café in the theater district. She was probably making a decent salary, all of which she could save because she didn't have to pay rent or buy food.

At the begining of the movie when she asks were there is a room for rent her boss (or one of the people she was asking) says "you could get a room across the street, but a weeks wages would only get you one night."

So, she works. Sleeps in random places and never pays for much herself and guess what? After a week she has enough for a room across the street for one night.

Her boyfriend was filthy rich. She wouldn't have had to pay for their hotel accommodations.
