Great film!

I watched this last night on DVD and I liked it a lot. I was waiting to see if they ever caught the killer,

***** spoiler!*****

but he died before he could be arrested.

The acting was great and the story line was great and it was a true story.

Of course it is. Saw it when it came out (after the big screen, it was on the relatively new format that was blu-ray, hehe) and I couldn’t have been more pleased with it. Gets better every time.

Allen wasn't the one, which they said at the end: the handwriting wasn't a match. But because the film was based on Goldsmith's book that was his prime suspect and as the film shows there is nothing, but circumstantial evidence, which is enough to convince Goldsmith, but not most others and definitely not a jury. Maybe if they could get DNA evidence together they can someday find who the real one is. Remember Jack the Ripper was never caught either.
But anyway, I thought the film was well done because they recreated the whole '60s scenario as accurately as possible...except for Robert Downey Jr.--he can't even act--he always plays the same character in every film: himself.

I agree this is actually my favorite movie of all time.
