junk 100%

well ...another remarkable junk....

reply

well champ, which one is it? is it remarkable or is it junk?

idiot.

reply

Junk? I guess that's what we call clever creative films nowadays.

reply

I wouldn't call it junk, but clever doesn't really describe it either. The premise is promising, but the execution was lacking. I found the "twist" to be absurd and horribly revealed. Why reveal it as exposition? The audience would rather find out through imagery and have it dawn on them gradually ala Sixth Sense. It makes the audience feel like they are intelligent and part of the action if they come to the conclusion without it being spoonfed to them.

**SPOILERS**

I actually felt like the whole idea of not knowing How Martha got down to the chair was what led up to the twist...which she was going down there herself after the mind control wore off.

I feel like it would have been more spoonfed if they actually showed that to us in flashbacks...but they show us how she does it right after the exposition scene.

But the bedroom exposition scene was the only scene I found kind of boring...maybe because everything seemed to have action to it before hand.

I thought it was clever because everything that happened in the middle of the movie that made me ask..."why is this happening" comes full circle in the end in the bedroom...but maybe they can have made the bedroom scene more entertaining. I def. feel I was right alongside with the Mom until that one scene though. But before the IMDB listing of 250 grand budget...not sure how they even did all that they did. Didn't see it in theaters though, only on my little computer screen.

I still love how the end is the mirror of the start.

I also enjoyed the full-circle aspect. The bedroom scene definitely took me out of the movie, and I found it very hard to get back into after that. The action in the bedroom felt like it was just thrown in, and the explanation felt like a James Bond "I'm-about-to-kill-you-so-I'm-going-to-reveal-my-plan" moment.

As for how they did it on such a small budget, you would be amazed what people will donate for mention in a film. I didn't pay much attention to the thank yous at the end, but there were probably several that have donated time, money, props, etc.

I have to say that I am thankful they decided to go the suspense-route instead of gore... that kind of film is made very rarely now.

reply

Want to talk about them being an idiot and YOU calling this film good?

You are the idiot.

reply

I don't really even know why I read these opinions, everyone has different taste. The movie might be good to some and not so good to others, so what. Opinions are likes buttholes, everyone has one, and most stink.

reply

The whole point of a "discussion" board is to "discuss" opinions. If you feel it a waste of your time to read anyone else's opinion, then why did you waste even more time responding to them with a cliche?

reply

Well, Personally I thought this movie was trite and boring. The monotony of her waking up in the chair every five minutes was just dreadfull.

reply

LOL!

reply

i didn't actually see this movie, but based on the comments above, i'm sure as hell not gonna waste my time with this crap, thanks folks.

reply

LOL. Troll. And what about all the good reviews? You're the one missing out.

reply

This movie is better than the Descent or the Eye.
Americans make the best horror movies.
I'm being sarcastic.
