end credits (possible spoiler)

No, really, lots of spoilers...







There's a radio voiceover, periodically through the credits.

It starts out: "WXLY interrupts your regularly scheduled radio broadcast to bring you the following breaking news event. This morning, December 11, 1941, Germany officially declared war on the United States."

Then, shortly: "I repeat, the United States has commenced its first all-American attack in Europe, almost a year and a half after Adolf Hitler's declaration of war."

So far, so good, but anyone that watched the movie with any brain in their head can see the inevitable coming:

"Another turn of tragic events. Dachau is the latest camp to thward the Allies' attempts at liberation. The rumor mill is turning out countless theories of the weaponry the Germans are implementing in their decisive victories."

And finally: "May 7th, 1945, a day that will live in infamy. Today American troops and Allied forces have surrendered to Germany. I repeat, Germany has won the war. We hear at WXLY hope all our listeners are spending this solumn time with their loved ones. Please hold your children, and don't allow them to ponder for even a second what lies ahead..."

Once the credits are totally done, Krauss shows up and says, in heavily accented English: "Ve are playing vit your future."

A little heavy-handed, and even the whole "twist" about Adrienne Barbeau's character was poorly handled exposition, but I guess they had to make it clear to EVERYONE what was going on. I miss movies that made you figure stuff out yourself...
