making cookies

I love this show. It's pure genius. Just caught it on youtube. Funny how Showtime can sit on this without realizing what they have. My question is: does anyone know if the oven really worked and really baked those cookies? I ask because it seems the cookies came out in the same messy way that the dough went on the cookie sheet. Does anyone know the history behind this show?

I though about that a lot when I was younger, but I have come to the conclusion that the back of the stage oven could probably open, and someone behind the scenes went and cooked the cookies offstage - then, when they were done, and hopefully cool enough to act with - the bell would ding, and IT'S COOKIE TIME!
