"it's COOKIE TIME!"

yup, to this day, it's what I say when... well, when it's COOKIE TIME!

- also, when something simple, and easy to fix, breaks - it's always "Well I Can't Work With This!"

and of course, "Dylan... D-Y-L-A-N. Bob... B-O-B. Why Bob Dylan that's Right! Wellthankyouverymuch!"

who can forget "at the B A R hyphen B hyphen Q U E...nnnHELPMEJESUS!"

and I couldn't stand to watch "Strangelove: FlavaFlav and Brigette" Reality show - well for any reason - but mostly 'cause everytime Brigette Nielson came on the screen all I could think of was "Brigett Nielson's... MAMMORY Glands!"

yeah, haven't seen it in a long time, but most of it stuck with me.

I love when he's playing his harmonica with the cowboys and the cow scares them. And also he plays the harmonica with his nose.

I love Elvis and the pillow! "Elvis has left the building...two points!"

I love how he makes a game out of playing with the long telephone cord.

I love how those two songs were alike (same chords) and he keeps flipping back and forth between them, what were they?

How he didn't know all the words to La Bamba. I think one of the verses he sings is "What are the words to La Bamba"?

I love how the audience is obviously having a good old time laughing away.

Seriously, this needs to be on DVD.

The intro song

My name is Steven,
How the hell are you?
I said good evenin'
How the hell are you?

and

Well, I like Bruce Springsteen
And I like The Who
And I liked Bob Dylan
When he was a Jew

But I don't like Charles Manson,
Adolf Hitler,
Or Rod McKuen's poetry

Not to mention the whole plastic cowboys and indians bit.

Heya Heya Heya Heya
What? Who's there?
Heya Heya Heya Heya

I had this on vid recorded from HBO so long ago and simpley wore the tape out. Awesome to find on YouTube. I can tell you every word of this show. Anyway, Fav Moment for this show: I was in Jr. High and had a drum solo for a spring concert at school. I learned his drum solo and played it. I love that this cat playes everthing too man.

reply

It was actually on SHOWTIME, not HBO as many posters claim. But then again, they're pretty much the same thing. Some have also claimed that the Steven Banks show appeared on Public Television in the early '90's.

The entire thing is memorable to me. I watched it countless times. It is amazing. Years later now, I find that I'm just like that character. Last night I baked cookies in my bob dylan pyjamas with a recorder stuck in my nose and my head in the clouds. It gets me by.

I LOVED this and watched it countless times. The songs were hilarious.

But...
I started back to college a few months ago. Now when I sit down to start doing school work, the slightest thing will distract me and I think "I can't work with this!"

I tried to explain the joke to a girl when we were studying together, but she just totally didn't get it. (Of course at that point, I thought "Well, I can't work with this!")
