The man that is a god in the movie...

Why was he considered a god? thats the one thing i didnt understand. Was he lying to the people? or were there people considered to be gods at that time for some reason?

reply

I think he was suppose to be an alien or something.

reply

looked like a white guy pretending to be a god. Thats why after he threw the spear at him and struck him down, he shouted "see he is no god". he was only a man and a white man at that! Which has a symbolic message in itself.

"you got the juice now"

reply

Those wicked white men. What would Hollywood and self-loathing white filmmakers do without whites to vilify. Whites are the root of all evil, it seems. Even back in pre-historic times, we were trying to exert our 'white privilege' onto everyone.

reply

U could say it a white man and a white women helping all them black folks against the evil whitey man, saving their arses, which is a message in itself.

reply

It was just one more poorly unexplained supposed to be 'mystery'. They were playing on the mixed theories of Egypt's first rulers being aliens, Egypt being a partially transported Atlantis and their architecture being based on that of Atlantis. I thought the concept was interesting but the execution left a lot to be desired.

reply

Reading between the lines of the little that was said he was one of the survivors from Atlantis (the blind dude said something about how there were three of them originally and he was the last one) and their advanced technology allowed them to fool everyone into thinking they were gods. So yes he was lying. And yes, there have been many different cultures that had leaders considered gods, a few examples are Julius Caesar claimed to be descended from Venus, Caligula declared himself to be many gods including Jupiter on Earth and the Egypt pharaohs were supposed to be actual gods. Hope that helps

reply

Dont forget about the Chinese and thinking their leaders were gods.

reply

He was an alien from Stargate.

reply

lol glad I'm not the only one who thought that 😂

reply

My thought exactly. I prefer to think that right after the end of the movie, some of the workers go inside and find the Stargate, and they decide to bury it.

Prehistoric people were gullible.

Oh wait, they were actually less stupid than modern people: now people worships "gods" they don't even see !
