For me, the polygraph being a major plot point was a large disappointment.
Simply put, the polygraph test is a joke. Or at least it is once you know that it's a con. And I expect any and everyone in law enforcement to know that.
The lie detector is effective only for intimidating the ignorant and/or stupid.
Polygraphs are used by all the National security agencies,NSA, FBI and CIA. They aren't as ineffective as you claim.
shareAs someone who has taken half a dozen polygraph exams with experience in law enforcement, I can assure you that the tests are completely unreliable. There's a reason it's inadmissible in court and banned from the private sector. The government agencies just lag behind here for some reason.
shareThat's probably partly the reason Garrison isn't hauled in straight away after failing the polygraph test. Just about everyone is aware they aren't 100% effective and are more of an indicator than anything else.🐭
