I Heard this has been postponed until 2007

After the London bombings i heard this film will be delayed for a couple of years. Anyone know if this true?

Surely it'd be better to release this in the wake of the bombings than postpone it. I don't mean for box office winnings, but for awareness of the situation. It is, after all, a situation that is only going to get worse. Perhaps it will never be released?! Shame, it looks quite good to me.

Actually, it is being shown in the Montreal World Film Festival, as an entry in the official competition. I just saw it today, and must say that I was not too impressed by it.

To be honest, I don't think it is likely that this film will get a theatrical release (in North America), nor do I think it deserves one. Chances are that it will be shown at a few film festivals before going straight to TV/video/DVD.

I saw this film to and let me tell you it's much better than 70% of the movie shown out there on theatre releases. Of course the subject of the film is not that comfortable for many and thus it will be hard to swallow and release it.

reply

It doesn't exactly help that it doesn't have a distributor yet.

And, regardless of what you think of the film, no distributor will pick it up after the events of July 7th.

reply

it screened today to a packed audience at London's Raindance festival.

reply

I know. I was there.

But it's still very dodgy ground for a distributor to tread on, especially in terms of a wide release.

No the film is coming out in the UK around June 06. No dates yet for US release.

reply

oh wow.. i cant wait, where did you hear its released June 06?
