How good was it?

To me the film seemed to be trying to cram too much into it to make it a really great film. I assume the basic premise was taken from the real Balcombe Street siege where fleeing terrorists took cover in a flat and held the occupants hostage. When they heard the SAS was about to be unleashed they gave themselves up.

There were lots of bits of the film that could have, and should have, been left out. For example if every scene involving the MI5 agent’s daughter was cut, what difference would that have made? None at all. Similarly we have the great expose that someone is leaking information to the press and this goes no-where.

It’s a pity as there were some really good actors and actresses in this and the story was basically sound, it just appeared that the film makers were in a hurry to get it finished and left it very ragged. Needed a very good editor to cut out the junk.
