Why didn't they give credit to the eye?????

interesting remake. just curious why they didn't give any credit to the original movie. kind of lame to not put that on the cover or on the back.

There are many re-makes that do not give credit to it's orginal.

Scarface, Ben-Hur, Reservoir Dogs, etc.

I get that but this movie was a COMPLETE rip off of The Eye! down to the little kid in her apartment building and the freeway scene after the heroin gets back from her trip to find who her eye donor was! EVEN THE CREEPY GUY IN THE ELEVATOR!

Naina is a total insult to The Eye. A slap in the face.

I'm sorry, Reservoir Dogs was a remake?? It's a pastiche of different genres and film influences, but remake? Of what film? I'd really love to know.

Ironically, this isn't even ironic at all.

My sentiments exactly. I was wondering, "Hey, I've seen this movie before, but not with hindus..." I guess India isn't much on importing from Hong Kong. But, they can 'import' the employment from America!

The Eye was originally a Hong Kong film, released in 2002 I believe. Both Naina and The Eye '08 are remakes. The original is quite good, I know the Sundance channel used to air it from time to time. Naina is basically a complete ripoff but they could have done a far worse job. I highly recommend the original though. I got my copy from Amazon but I suspect it will be easier to find in stores after the American remake is released on DVD.

reply

because the eye ripped off a movie called "blink"

reply

RD was a loose remake of a Hong Kong fiolm called "City on Fire", the basic plot and several shot-for-shot scenes were lifted straight from it

reply

no american know about "City on Fire", they just know about Jackie Chan & Bruce Lee.
