The movie is not good, but maybe the book have another interesting things that was missed in the movie.

I´m very coriuose about this, because I can´t undestand how the book was so sucesful and the movie nothing at all.

i read the book but haven't seen the movie yet.
the book sucks and i can't understand why it was so freakin successful.

the book is nothing spectacular, but far better than the film.
me and a friend both thought that there was a lot of things missing in the movie, not the sex scenes, but the psychology of the main character. they kinda missed the point there and, unlike the book, the movie didn't reach me at all.

I agree with the above post.

The film made her character submissive, a scared teenager who isn't sure of what she wants. The book showed her as confident and dominant. Also I didn't get the whole grandmother thing. That was just pointless.

The book was slightly erotic, the film simply laughable.

I've read the book but haven't seen the movie, where can I see it. Is it anywhere online?

I've heard that the movie isn't that good but the book is better.

I read the book, and thought it was terrible. If you have/want to read something strong and slightly offensive about youth excesses, I would recommend Isabella Santacroce instead.
I have no idea either why it was so successful in so many countries! I didn't find it particularly well-written, either. This was years ago, who knows if my opinion would change reading it now?
