Will this movie be translated into English?

The trailer looks good (although I don't remember reading about Melissa's grandma anywhere in the book), but does anyone know if this movie will be translated into English?

reply

it says u.s.a. so i hope so!

First of all, did the book get translated in English???? I want to know that.

For the translation of the movie, I hope they will not spread this movie abroad cause it will suck. Anyway, for sure depends by the gross of the film here and I think many people will go to the cinemas to watch this piece of crap, because crap is. The "book" was terrible and the movie will be worst.

I believe the book was published in English by Serpents Tail in the UK and Grove here in America.

Here's a quote from an article and the url:

"Co-financed by Sony International, the movie will be released in Spain next month, capitalizing on the nationality of the lead actress MarĂa Valverde, and there are plans to distribute the film in other European countries as well as the United States, a representative of Sony International said, though release dates have not been set."

BUT, do you really think this film will be shown in theaters in an ameriKa with a Bush administration mentality? Look at all the troubles Adrian Lyne's 1997 version of Lolita had-- and that was with a liberal administration!

reply

First of all, in the book there is no grandma, yet the director or the producers, or who ever was doing the film made the addition of the granmother just to have an obtion to better tell the story, like Melissa will be interacting her actions or thoughts with ther granny. That is what I read in an intalian article a long time a go, when the movie began rolling.
Second, I do think is going to be tranlated into enlgish, so poeple can see it here in Usa.And maybe the movie doesn't reach the theaters but defently it will make it to the dvd stores, just like many other famous foreign movies.
And Third, if it were to be realease in theater I don't think Usa has a problem witht that, since they release so many horror, psycho films, with terrible scenes to catch and also sex scenes to see. But for some reason or another foreign movies are not realease in the theaters, like Malena, or just Nobody Knows or Tutles can fly, they are put in the stores.
So you guys can go and watch Melissa at your house and admire the talent of Maria.
