How does the Pres. cheat death?

I've watched this so many times, and the President cheats death when the Vice President is killed by the missle; again when he and a guard tumble down a flight of stairs and the guard lands on top of him, dead; and the grand finale, when he is "thrown" out Nicolae's office window at least 20 stories high, landing on top of a car. At which point Nicolae sees him get up and says, "that's not humanly possible... Is it?"

But the thing is that they never talk about why this is happening to him. Why does he never die, like Nicolae. Until the end, we assume that he dies in the blast to take out Nicolae's command center, knowing it won't kill him, but will at least slow him down.

Does anyone know what's up with this? Does it explain it in the book?

God is protecting him, obviously. That's why Nicolae looks up to the sky when he says "Is it?" He knows it was divine intervention. God protected him long enough to receive salvation and take out Nicolae's command center.

Also, you wouldn't find any answers to much of what happens in World At War in the books. The majority of the movie's story is completely original and not true to the books, which is why a lot of fans actually hate this movie.

Okay that's kinda what I figured, but he wasn't a Christian until the very end, so I thought it was strange that he lived through the missle that killed the VP, and when he fell down the stairs. But God must have had a plan for him all along.

After I wrote this I went and read the last two chapters of Trib Force. I have the book but haven't gotten through the first one yet. So reading those two chapters, yeah... that was pretty dumb to make a movie about someone they barely mention. They should have stayed true to the books. The second movie is just so wonderful and blows me out of the water every time I watch it. The first one too,but the second is my favorite! The third, I've never thought really fit and now I know why.

Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated, and so are you. May the Lord bless you always! 😇
