EU leaders agree on reform treaty

I'd barely finished writing this morning's commentary concerning the first big development of the European Union summit when I read that the revived Roman empire's leaders have gotten past the issues created by the now defunct European Union constitution and are ready to move forward.

A BBC report states leaders have agreed to the following outline to govern the 27-member bloc:


a full-time president of the European Council - the regular gatherings of prime ministers and presidents

a new foreign affairs chief, with the profile and the budget to give the EU more clout on the world stage

fewer national veto powers

more powers for the European Parliament

a slimmed-down European Commission (from 2014)

President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso is quoted as saying, "This shows that Europe is on the move, and on the move in the right direction."

What Barroso may or may not know is the "right direction" the European Union is headed is leading us closer and closer to a new world order, the advent of the Antichrist, the battle of Armageddon and the visible, physical, bodily return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to the earth.

EU leaders agree on foreign chief

Reuters is reporting the following concerning the European Union summit presently underway:

European Union leaders reached broad agreement on Friday on a single post to run EU foreign affairs, the first success at a summit on the bloc's future, but Poland held up progress towards a treaty to reform the Union.

The leaders of the 27 member states agreed on the job title, role and powers of a High Representative of the European Union for foreign policy, defense and security, diplomats said.

The post will combine the jobs of foreign policy chief Javier Solana, who does mostly crisis management, and External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner, who controls the executive European Commission's aid budget.

The new foreign policy chief would chair meetings of EU foreign ministers and head a combined external action service drawing on both national and EU diplomats, after Britain dropped its reservations on those points, the diplomats said.
This is a key development, potentially, as the single person who holds this office will have what many have said will be extraordinary powers concerning how the European Union interacts with other nations, particularly in the areas of peacemaking and peacekeeping.

Dr. Javier Solana who presently is the European Union's foreign policy chief, is considered by most to be the person who will, at least initially, be handed the powerful new position - one that may well play a role in the advent of the prophesied Antichrist in the future.

The next big question for the European Union, the revived Roman empire of Bible prophecy, is whether the EU's leaders will be able to agree on a treaty to replace "the defunct EU constitution", helping the bloc face up to "global challenges."

We should soon have an answer to that question.
