If this was directed by the Coen's...

Mickey would have been up for two Oscars. Does his character remind anyone else of Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men? I see a few slight similarities. Both being big and slow to move, but very quick with a weapon if they need to be. Both very calm and collected UNTIL it's time to kill, and when that time comes they do it very well and dont let emotion come into it. Mickey's character didnt seem as evil as Chigurh. In fact I dont think he was evil at all. He only killed when he absolutely had to and even then I dont think like he enjoyed it much at all. Chigurh was seriously messed up and got pleasure in doing his job. But I still think Mickey was very good in this. He was a very convincing native American. I can totally see him as Chigurh in NCFOM. He should play baddies more often but be given a chance to really shine. If this was a good movie (like if the Coen's directed it), I think Mickey's chance of getting an Oscar nom would have been much higher.

By the way, I remember YEARS ago when this movie was still in devlopment, I actually had a bad dream that Mickey's character in this was after me. In my dream he played a real bad dude! That is how I invisioned his character/the movie to be. In fact in my dream he was as basically exactly the same as Chigurh come to think of it! The same relentlessness and amount of 'evil' lol. But this dream was way before NCFOM even came out. I remember waking up and feeling like I had been hunted down by a relentless murderer. Very freaky. Ever since then I was HOPING the character would be like that. But he had to be written like a cliche 'nice' murderer

While I agree that Rourke plays a great bad guy, I didn't really see any similarity between the two characters. One was an actual human with feelings, flaws and perspective; the other was an on screen caricature that made me fall asleep. :\

I would much rather watch Killshot over NCFOM any day of the week, though I will grant that some of the other Coen movies were very entertaining. NC just didn't do anything for me. :(

Rourke very much reminded me of Chigurh, especially how he talked. That being said, this movie wasn't in the same galaxy as NCFOM.

I agree, NCFOM is from a different galaxy...the galaxy Bor-ring.

If Killshot was directed by the Coen's... every character would have been like JGLevitt's, an annoying idiot--remember BurnAfterReading? I like Elmore's stories, and this film was interesting & entertaining (unlike NCFOM).

This movie shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as NCFOM and the Coens wouldn't touch a script like this.

Oh, the usual. I bowl. Drive around. The occasional acid flashback.
