I really enjoyed this but... [spoilers - 2008 film watch or gtfo]

I was able to suspend disbelief during -- the turn of events seemed fairly plausable -- considering i know nothing about american-indian mafia hitman or the Toronto mafia...

On reflection, i'm questioning:

- Why would Bird go with Richie Nix to hold up a real estate agent?

After thinking about the initial setup for the two intertwining storylines, the only thing that seems 'forced' throughout the whole film is that.

Bird's established as a ruthless, intelligent, leave-no-witnesses professional and as soon as stuff starts to go badly for him.. He goes with an obvious idiot on a little side-quest...

I'm just thinking, if i was some careful calculating contract killer, am i likely to follow some impulsive idiot (whos just tried to rob me) into an unknown situation where he intends to extort some real estate agent who he's previously telephoned and given prior warning to.

Fair enough, bird may not know all this.

Despite that, i really enjoyed the movie and though the acting was brilliant and the film kept me entertained throughout... It was fun ride from opening to end credits...

I read somewhere its based on a book, which makes sense, if its better explained there...

Well, Bird saw Richie as his little brother. I guess he figured he could "fix" what had happened to his little brother if he took Richie under his wing.

Straightedge means I'm better than you.
