The animation is horrible! But I saw this movie in theater in 5th grade.

I actually recently caught this movie on cable. Im 20 now, but I remember on my birthday, in 5th grade, I saw this movie in theaters with my mom. Obviously I didnt notice how bad the animation was back then, because I was a kid. But Now that I see it now, DAMN! & just cuz it was made in 2005, isn't an excuse, cuz we got animations like Finding Nemo & Incredibles around the same time & a little earlier.

Im just really surprised that this was shown in theaters too. It look like a low budget straight to DVD movie. This movie must have had AMAZING producers, to get this crap in theaters. The animation looks like cut-scenes from a Playstation 1 video-game.

Toy Story came out 10 years before this and looks infinitely better. This is terribly animated. Looks like it cost 5 cents to make.

yes I have to agree!!

Just a little over 2 years ago (2013) they had "hoodwinked too" on Netflix. I put it on for my 1 yr old and he loved it. I actually kind of enjoyed it too The comedy and darker elements reminded me of the shrek movies. And I vaguely remember when this movie came out I was about 15 and had no real interest to see it but I remember Ann Hathaway being a voice actress in it. anyway, obviously by the name and the storyline you know that this is the sequel ( even though I don't even recall the sequel in theaters ) so I wanted to buy the original film because my son watch the sequel nonstop for four months and I just figured OK he'll like the first one. My goodness... I wish I could get my money back from Amazon!. It's unbelievably miserable because how terrible the animation and quality is. I mean how did they release something like that?. I'm surprised they even made a sequel 6 years later based off of how terrible it was!. Needless to say my son doesn't even watch it so funny he's only three but he's fully aware that it looks terrible Lol. But I love the sequel!.

People, research the origins of the film first. Hoodwinked was independently funded and therefore, it DID NOT have that spit-polished Pixar or Dreamworks quality that we have come to expect from animated CGI films these days. Sometimes, it's more about quality, especially regarding the storyline (which is top-notch here) than the animation quality. Yes, the animation could be better, but the fact that the writers faced this financial restraint meant that the writers really had to give the storyline their best moonshot to make the film viable. And it worked out beautifully in this case.

I know. I saw this when I was in 7th grade in our world studies class and I couldn't help but notice how terrible the animation was. I even remember one scene when Little Red Riding Hood was falling down a tree and bouncing off each branch on her way down...it looked so stiff and badly animated.

Check your *beep* kid. That was done on purpose. It was a throwback to old claymation style animation and done to save money which they didn't have a lot of. It looks great, what you're complaining about is the style. Which if you don't like fine, but all movies age some better than others. The Incredibles hasn't aged as well as you think but it also has some of that aesthetic choices to match the tone of the movie.

A good review of "Inside Out": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXC_205E3Og
