Great line from 'Hard Pill'

This was a really thought-provoking film, and although it was clearly a low-budget effort, it had some great moments. Some of the writing was particularly good, I thought. My favorite line was when Tim says something to the effect of, "I'm just not attractive to gay men. I hate the fact that the currency of the gay male world is being young and hot...and I'm just broke." As he goes on to explore hetero feelings, with the help of the experimental drug, he finds out that making that change is not the panacea he had hoped for. By the end of the film the question of whether he was well-served by participating in the drug trial is left tantalizingly open.

Do you happen to have a 'transcript' oh that conversation? I've been looking for the whole qoute of that scene but can't find it.... It is the scene when they are having dinner and he talks about how hard it is to be Gay (and unatractive) right?

reply

No its actually when hes being interviewed by the people doing the trail.

I finally entered the gay world at the age of 43 after my wife threw me out. So I know all about this subject. I was young and hot once, but when I was, I was trying to "get over" being gay and turn straight.

Now, having reached the age of 65, I am even less hot than at 43. But there are a lot of guys, young and old, who do not just look on the outer man. The shallow bar twinks look the other way in disgust when they see me now, which leaves my time free for worthwhile people.

That's a great post, "JJS"... I couldn't agree with you more. "The shallow bar twinks", seem to think that they'll be young and hot forever! Boy are they in for a big surprise!
