very misleading *may be spoilers*

This whole movie was misleading. I thought they were just regular people who were psychos which is much scarier than vampires. And they aren't even like cools vampires, they are secret, trying to be regular vampires. The movie did have potential if it wasn't made so much like a drama. And that Frances kid, he was just annoying. also, the back cover of the dvd says "the ahmiltons seem to be the picture perfect american family. They are hardworking community memebers, giving to their local charities, attending town hall meetings and always respectful to their neighbors...except for the fact that they usually end up killing them." there is not one part of that description that is true. I never saw them attend meetings or give to charity. And they di not look picture perfect. Also, there was only one neighbor that they killed, and the older brother was pissed about it. Like I said, this was just misleading, i was very disappointed.

Haha! these movies are from LionsGate, a company known for stretching the truth so far it's breakable. It's marketing at it's finest.

I agree it is really misleading. I think if they were just a psycho family it would be so much scarier than them being vampires. But hell no, No way was francis annoying! he was awesome!

reply

lol, i thought he was annoying. I don't know, i just hate the whiny younger sibling characters. But i guess it was just part of the whole, vampire-puberty thing!

Why does the letter of the description matter so much to you? Thats really bizarre. Try to have some imagination. They are setting up the spirit of the concept. You really needed to see them attending meetings? WTF? They are trying to pretend to be normal (thats true) but they kill people (thats true too).

The "complaints" on this thread about what was really a pretty decent little indie film are just assinine. Proof that no matter how hard you try there will be a segment of the audience that analyze minute, unimportant, details and obsess over it ruining any chance of enjoyment they might have had. "they're not even COOL vampires!" "the box said picture perfect and they dont look picture perfect to me!" "vampires arent scary, psychos are!" jeeeez...

The description is a little misleading. However, the movie itself was wonderfully twisted. I enjoyed it.

I do agree that this was a misleading title and that the case said all of the things that make you get it. This also dissapointed me a bit. However, this was still a good film.

haha i didnt even realize they were vampires till francis showed the fangs. i just thought they were this psychotic cannibal family or something.. i liked it thought.

Precisely, me too. I loved the way that "unfolded"...

Was I the only one who was expecting Lenny to be some ugly Bilial (Basket Case), mutant looking freak?

reply

Totally!

reply

i did! i was expecting something like leatherface to come out, but it was just a kid lol.

reply

Haha. I thought the exact same thing. I was a little disappointed that he wasn't, but other than that, I really liked the movie.

yeah, i fell for that too and thought it'd be some fugly mutant. Up until the social worker looks in and is friendly to it. He clearly sees Lenny and relaxes and says "aww I'll get you out of there." That was the first sign that he looked normal to me.

the fact that it was made so much drama like is what made this movie special. its not another recycled plot about wampires you can see hundreds of.
