Staralfur

It's beautiful but it felt out of place in this constipated piece of balders.

When I was watching the scene regarding the two leads in the car on the way to the airport, I recognized the first few notes of the song, and darned if it didn't come to me as it played out. "Staralfur" by Sigur Ros - Icelandic (of course) - but I first became aware of it in another movie - "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" - also a very emotional point in that movie as well.

Good choice.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I didn't know the name of the song and I absolutely loved it.
It worked really well on The Life Aquatic as well

I take it you weren't impressed by the film then. Are you perhaps Noel Gallagher?

'Are you perhaps Noel Gallagher?'

Huh?

reply

Should I start at the beginning?

Noel Gallagher is in a British band called Oasis and although he is rich and successful he still feels working-class at heart. To prove this he takes no interest in politics and has a particular dislike for celebrities who campaign for debt relief and the like coz it 'detracts from the music and is 'not rock 'n roll' or something like that. And a film such as this would most certainly have him reaching for the barf bag. Cynical doesn't quite describe it.

I take it you're not him, then.

No but I'm a Southern version. And the film's still blarney.
