Poor Lawrence - SPOILER obviously

Poor Lawrence ultimately betrays Gina comprehensively.

After he learns of her imprisonment, he never once expresses how difficult that must have been for her, and never once indicates that he cares whether or not it was justified. He finally establishes that she had acted either in protection of a harmed minor, or in retaliation for a minor having been harmed. And he just leaves that hanging.

As a matter of fact, he never really troubles himself to learn about her at all.

It doesn't change me absolutely loving Lawrence, because love is not about perfection. After all, Lawrence created Gina's caring about the specific issue. She was already very caring in general. She was clearly fertile ground, but he planted the seeds, or at least watered them, with the things he talked with her about.

Ultimately passion felt for things that matter has to come out. You need to be prepared for that, whether the passion is your own, or something you helped ignite in another. When it happens, it is a defining moment, and one you can never get back for a re-do.
