Similar movies

Im looking to watch some similar movies, 2 come to mind already these being Eyes Wide Shut and After Hours. Basically these are movies following one mans late night journey through the underbelly of the city. Obviously theres more too it than that, but this is not a review, if it were a review I may include a comparison of why Edmond is indeed better than Eyes Wide Shut for 3 reasons, Tom Cruise cant act, the bedroom/joint scene(cringe)and that annoying keyboard that sounds like a child hitting one key in bad time.

So im basically looking for a movie about guy bumbling from one weird scenario to another. There is also an Emilio Estevez movie Judgement Night, slightly different but also the kind of thing im looking for.

I would agree that the two you mentioned are similar to Edmond. I would disagree that Edmond is better. Eyes Wide Shut has Kubrick as director, After Hours Martin Scorsese. Edmond has Stuart Gordon a big difference. I enjoyed all three but have never had the urge to rewatch any of them.

I thought of "Seul Contre Tous", English title "I Stand Alone".

Plus, regarding "After Hours": That's a movie I re-watch regularly, something I can't imagine doing with "Edmond". For my personal taste, there was too much of a break; after a whole lot of action going on, in the last half an hour it's just talk. Don't get me wrong, I can also enjoy movies that are all talk, like Hitchcock's "Rope", but that set that pace from the start. So I'd maybe re-watch the first part, but not the whole movie.

I just made a thread of my own where I said this film reminded me of the book, the The Catcher in the Rye, as well as the films Taxi Driver, and Falling Down. Each one has a character that is a loner and is seeing the darkest side of human nature.

Wow !! Those 2 movies are exactly what comes to my mind when I think of "One-night-odyssey movies". They are my all time favorites. The other one which I can think of is "Collateral" with Tom Cruise. "American Psycho" has a similar setup as well.

I love these midnight-watch movies.

IMDb ain't got *beep* on me !!

"Falling Down" was a similar white-guy breakdown. I was bored to tears by "Eyes WIde Shut.

This Must be the Place (2011)

Kafka (1991)

The Trial (1962)

These three films all follow one man's strange and fantastic journey. Similar to Edmond, all three are personal favorites generally underappreciated by film fans.
