Another case of misleading trailers. *SPOILERS*

Disclaimer! I did thoroughly enjoy this film. There were a FEW moments where my attention started to wander elsewhere but as a whole I had a great time watching it and I was not at all disappointed.

I just can't help but feel like the trailer marketed it as something other than what it was? It made Amira seem like some deceitful bitch who was out to ruin Will's life in order to protect her son. I got the impression that she'd be cold and heartless.

Yet in the actual film she was extremely vulnerable and remorseful for everything. She was near tears in almost every single scene. She begged and pleaded when I really thought that Will would be the one doing that. The previews almost made me think that somebody's life would even be in danger.

I'm not complaining here. I ended up loving her character. She just wasn't nearly as scandalous as it seemed in previews though. When she surrendered the memory card with the images I kept thinking that maybe she had saved them on a computer or printed them out first and was still out to destroy him... but nope.

On a side note... can I just say that I LOVED Vera Farmiga in this ?! She was genius. Shame her character only made a few appearances and then was poof gone without any closure aside from returning the vehicle she had stolen. Even that was off-screen.

...and this is the reason I do not watch movie trailers!!!!

They are either misleading or reveals WAY too much.

I always decide if I want to see a movie based on the poster, the actors in it, having read maximum two sentences on the back of the DVD, or heard loosly what it is about.
This makes everything in a movie a surprise to me. :)

I rented Breaking and Entering after seeing Jude Law and Juliette Binoche on the cover. Knew nothing about the story of the movie!

I watched the trailer after I saw the movie and was soooooooo glad I didn't see it cause it was just like you wrote - Amira seems very deceitful and that someone might be in danger, which was so not true in this case.
