no Udo on the DVD?!

Well, they've posted the specs of the upcoming DVD -- http://www.criterion.com/asp/release.asp?id=440 -- and although it's cool that they included six different narration tracks, I must admit that I'm quite disappointed that Udo Kier is not one of them. I quite enjoyed his version of the story when I saw it at the Egyptian. Sure, he may have slipped up on a couple words here and there, but his version of the resurrection scene deserved to be preserved for posterity.

I'm so jealous you saw Kier narrating this! By Egyptian, you mean the movie theater in Park City??

The Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. I have since acquired the DVD, and luckily there are some video clips from Udo's reading in the special features. But it would have been nice to have the option of listening to his entire reading while watching the film.

Cool, I saw it in class yesterday with Isabella Rossellini's narration and loved it.
