Boycott Steven Seagal.

As a Steven Seagal fan, who always watches his movies because you know you’re gonna see some sweet Aikido action, I’m angry. I usually don’t take movies all that seriously but its sad to see that someone like Lord Steven “Hard to Kill” Seagal so pathetic. For the love of Pete loose some weight man. I was reading some of the other post talking about there are people fatter than him and he is getting old, that’s all bs. Steven Seagal is an action star it is his responsibility to look the part.
Also, Here are some People that are around the same age or older than Steven Seagal that still won’t let themselves go: Sylvester Stallone, Kurt Russell, Samuel L. Jackson, Harrison Ford, and of course Chuck Norris. So its not that he’s old or he doesn’t know any better. He just doesn’t care.
He has a stunt double to do his fight scenes and he doesn’t have the decency to at least get a stunt double to do Aikido. He just doesn’t have a stunt double fighting for him, oh no, if he has to walk a long stretch the stunt double is walking for him. As I’m watching this movie I notice guy’s hair isn’t even groomed most of the time. Okay you can not be able to act, be fat and lazy, sound like it’s a strain for you to even talk, but why isn’t your hair combed? So my advice to everyone is to boycott Steven Seagal… Or get Chuck Norris to roundhouse kick the fat off of him.

Okay Death jamm why are these movies bad? But even more importantly why should I care? I don’t know Steven Seagal. I am a guy who paid to watch a Steven Seagal movie and at the very least he could do some Aikido and comb his hair. I’m not going to go easy on a man who knows how to exercise and take care of himself and also has the resources to get liposuction if he wanted to. He is refusing to do the work. It is that simple to all the people who rent and buy this movie and get crap. Here’s an extreme example of what’s going on now. You go to the doctor to get your appendix removed. You wake up out of surgery and you’re missing a leg. You don’t care how the doctor was feeling at the time or if he’s having a bad day or if he’s under contract and not being paid enough. Because he’s a professional and you expect him to perform as such. I rented a movie expecting to see Steven Seagal do Aikido and I get some stunt double half his size doing Take Kwon Do. There’s no excuse for that.

reply

Hey, the chubbiness kinda irked me at first too.

But then what really irked me is he didn't do his repetitive bitchslapfest like he has in all the other movies of him I watched.

When he doesn't do the 50 repeating-bitch-slap move, it's all a waste.

( Even a fatty can do that ! )

reply

Seagal needs to quit. Hes overweight and old. he needs to find something else to do-what else could he do though?

reply

Oh, useful, humanitarian stuff you know like helping Aids victims in far off Africa,(especially children) campaigning against cruelty to animals around the world, thousands of other little things like that. Oh yes, and do world tours with his band. He could also make a movie or two whenever he has a mind to. What else, oh by the way, Steven will be 56 next month. Is that too old because you're talking abouy Steven Seagal, or are all 56 year-olds too old to exist, god?

reply

All It is like this
Just don't watch his movies.
I am sure he could find not
liking any one of us but he
dont'say boycott anyone. There
are many actors that are older
and bigger with age that don't
do most of their work that uses
doubles, even younger ones, so
why Seagal's band wagon. He will
make movies till they don't make
money, so there must be enough
people that buy his dvds to keep
him acting.

jccitzen i agree with you, i mean hes making crap movies because of his contract but he could at least fix his hair and lose weight and show that he still cares, like i said before the main rule about being an action hero is that your in shape

reply

Seagal is making bad movies. Van Damme and Lundgren are making decent and bad movies. (Defender and Wake Of Death are far better than any of Seagal's work since say Under Siege 2) I actually found his Black Dawn watchable although not as good as his rivals, and as you say he does look really bad in his recent movies. (Not so with Black Dawn, but so with Out Of Reach)

He is at least better than Wesley Snipes...that guy is just unbearable to watch in his STV movies.

reply

I was going to hire this movie but I thought twice and put it back after thinking about the money i have chucked away hiring Seagals last few movies. Does Seagal actually do any Aikido in the film or does he just walk around wearing a ridiculous jacket with a voiceover delivering his lines ?? I keep on hiring his films in the hope I see some of the action you were gauranteed in his older movies and every time I am disappointed. Is this film any good ??

reply

Having now hired and watched this movie I can confirm that it is one big turd of a film. Seagal needs to call it a day and retire full stop, its bad enough that his character is named ' JOHN COLD ' however on top of that the films plot is all about the bad guys getting their hands on the plutonium. Seagal spends the whole movie looking constipated and the only fight sequence in the film ( which lasts about 5 seconds ) is performed by a slim stunt double with a bad wig. The special effects are laughable and the script sounds like it was written by a schoolboy, there is also a love interest in the film which is completely unbelievable.

reply

This film is an absolute disgrace. Seagal is hopeless, fat and not interested in even being there. It does not say much if he is not capable of actually fighting in a fight scene. If Seagal is only in 70% of the movie, and when there are fights he is not even in them, why do we keep hiring them?? Bring back the good old days.

reply

Check out "Hard Luck" (Directed by Mario Van Peebles) and get back to me on Wesley Snipes.

reply

No.I would not boycott him.His lackluster rentals of his recent movies should send him a message to pick better scripts.Sure his last few have not been that great. But maybe he should take some time off to find a decent project.Prince of pistols sounds good.I think comedy should be the next step for Seagal. The mountain dew ad points to this.

reply

I'd have to say this movie is the best movie I have ever seen. STEVEN SEAGAL IS SUCH A GREAT ACTOR!!! I LOVE STEVEN SEAGAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*sarcasm*

reply

This guy made THE BEST movies ever. He was the coolest. Under Siege and Out for Justice: if you haven't seen them yet, WATCH THEM. But seriously, this guy has lost it. Every single movie since Half Past Dead was horrible. You started to see him lose it in Half Past Dead, but at least that movie was half decent. But yeah, this guy should now STOP MAKING MOVIES!!!

He should go with his well-deserved pension, he's just too old and slow for such action movie.

reply

Mendosa9 - I think Seagal would whip your lamer yapper and all the other little haters in this thread...

LOL- So he might be a fatty, but then since he can slap all you whiners down, it doesn't bother me in the least !

rofl- Yes it is funny that Seagal would whip the snot out of all those whining " fattie , fattie ! " here....

reply

hmmmm constructive comments from everyone... :-)

reply

I almost did boycott Seagal and just sticking to watching Seagals awesome late 80s, early 90s flicks. Until I saw his new movie Mercenary For Justice. I will admit. It is pretty good! I'd say its his best movie since Exit Wounds.

I love the recent Seagal movies and can't give up my addiction. Just spent £8 to see MI3 and came out thinking, "what a waste of money". I don't mean my money, I just mean money in general. Seagal is a hell of a lot more watchable than Tom Cruise and his amateurish, cheap films have a kind of purity that's missing in cinema. £2 at my local DVD rental shop - plus a few beers - perfect!

To me, Seagal is just an aging bloke, past his best, trying to make a living like the rest of us - and I like that.

Don't boycott Seagal; boycott all those soul-less multi-billion dollar blockbusters instead with their liposuctioned, crowned-teeth, hair-combed, overpaid stars!

reply

Don't let him make another movie PLEASE.......
It's always the same stories in every of his movies.. He "can" kick "everybodys" *beep* and stuff...
The truth is that this man needs a wheelchair and retire...

STEVEN SEAGAL STINKS

Add Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Chow Yun Fat to that list.

Do you know the reason he's heavier than usual? No one has that kind of information, right. It could be something he is not able to control. If it was that simple, I'm sure he'd do whatever he could to prevent it. Besides, his real fans aren't bothered about his weight, we just care that he's well. And comparing him to other people is foolish, since, as I said before, we don't know what's going on with him.

reply

Thank you for your insightful post Mr Seagal. We just want you to return to your glory days. Please lose some weight, do your own fights, and pick a good script for a change.
