what a load of bollocks

worst film ive seen in ages, acting was crap....story was crap.....c'mon you'd question a hospital with one nurse and no other patients but as usual they find this totally normal wtf?

This is a very well put assessment. It felt to me like the cast vainly attempted to make the best with what little they had to work with. Given the rural, night time, stormy weather setting the basic plot premise carried the potential to become a Hitchcockian "Psycho" for the 21st century. However, that premist fell victim to deficient writing, uninspired directing and uneven editing.

what the hell are you guys talking about? this ain't masterpiece theater, folks.. enjoy a good horror flick for what it is or else go see 'sense and sensibility' instead if horror ain't your cup of tea..

btw, i don't think the director was even attempting to channel hitchcock here.. he was just trying to manufacture a piece of dark louisiana bayou gothic horror and i think he succeeded admirably at it..

this movie had just the right dose of wacky and zany wickedness to it to really keep your mind going 'holy sh.t' from start to finish..

indeed there are scenes in this movie where you want to laugh to keep from soiling your pants, so creepy is the overall feel that all you can help but squirm..

btw.. a bunch of druken teens wreck their car on a dark and stormy bayou road and you guys really expect them to exercise perfect common sense and rational thinking? lol

i'd like to see you guys act any differently under similar circumstances..

let me just say that at no point during this movie was my disbelief sufficiently threatened so as to keep me from buying the whole premise and enjoying the ride..

the plot works.. plain and simple! and you can credit the actors for that!

reply

If your disbelief was never threatened at any point during this rubbish then I'd suggest you might be taking the same drugs as the guy who ended up with distorted vision (which conveniently disappeared whenever it suited the plot).

Actually, there wasn't a plot - just a couple of scenes which the director clearly had a nice little vision of that got shoehorned into this pile of drivel - what a waste of 80 minutes!

Agreed, anticaria.

Agree , this was a really bad movie , apart from the scene when the guy wheels out the trolley of body parts in front of the cop - That was funny as - shame it wasn't supposed to be a comedy though !!!

This is a straight to DVD horror movie at best. Nothing special except that the gore went over the top in many parts of the film and made me squirm.

The acting was definitely third rate. No questions asked. None of the actors were believable. The med school girl was probably the only one who acted believably but then again she walked out like a normal person after her head was drilled with a mechanical driller, so tells you something.

Anyone who enters an hospital like that which is so eerie and deserted would know something is out of place within the first few minutes.

I really enjoyed this movie, personally I thought there wasn't really nothing too untoward and out of place regarding the hospital. It was a rural hospital, what did you expect? A bustling General Hospital with hundreds of workers and patients?? This was a small town hospital most likely....

The one thing that would have made me question things sadly was at the beginning. When the guy got ran down and the ambulance arrived, they just forcibly yanked the guy from under the car, that is the first thing that would have aroused my suspicions and the second thing was the paramedics just slung him on the stretcher like a slab of meat.

The hospital was sooooo weird and you didn't notice right away? ooooops

Even small hospitals have more than one nurse and two paramedics. Get real. Everything was suspicious from the very beginning. Including sending everyone to see the doctor without taking insurance information, keeping tabs on everyone, having everyone go for treatment on seperate floors even though there's only doc on staff, etc. etc.

I take it you've never been to a hospital before....

I got five on it!

Not the worst film I have or will ever see by far but it is flawed and leaves you thinking it could have been considerably better. The set up was fine but the final execution stumbles. Some of the protagonists are barely introduced before they get killed off so you feel nothing for them. The doctor's experiments make absolutely no sense at all other than to set up a grisly scene that defies logic (no details in case this SPOILS the film for others).

There are plenty of huge plot holes - how did the doctor recruit his orderlies and the nurse - and what is her back story anyway? How could they 'operate' (LOL)their nefarious activities for so long without the authorities discovering them? Neither the ending nor the alternative version included on the DVD are satisfying. There was scope for more humour but the director couldn't decide on what tome he wanted so it swings into HOSTEL territory but still doesn't deliver the goods.

I bought this movie in the 8-pack "8 Films to Die For from After Dark Horrorfest". Let me tell you, out of the 8, this was far from being the worst.

You don't watch lot of horror movies, do you? Or movies in general if you think this is the worst you've seen in ages?

It's "Gone with the Wind" compared to some craps I've seen recently.
